The idea by Beth Meadows of Orphans Promise of taking our partner pre-school owners/principals away on a Beauty Retreat turned out to be the most amazing blessing for them all. On the 10th November 2014, 15 principals and 4 Life Child staff members ventured out to the Bridges Retreat Centre in Franschoek for an overnighter with pampering and relaxation of foremost importance! It was more than any of us could have imagined… a stunning venue surrounded by olive groves and mountains offering peace and tranquillity.
There was a release of sorts as the ladies jumped on the trampoline, falling and laughing, feeling alive. The weather was warm and they spent the afternoon swimming in the pool and just having fun. There were no children for them to concern themselves with and some had left their husbands behind for the first time ever. It was time for the girls to be girls.
The dining room table was set up as a Nail Bar with bottles of nail varnishes of every colour given by Orphans Promise on their recent visit. Throughout the day each principal was treated to facials and hand massages, which was a first for all. They felt special! During the evening we had worship and cried together as stories were shared. By the end of the 2 days there was an incredible sense of gratitude all round for the incredible blessing presented by Orphans Promise.
